Fun with buttons and pipe cleaners

I checked out this cute book from the library and these little critters came from there.

Supplies: pipe cleaners, buttons and sticky eyes

Thread, twist, stick and viola!

Here we have a 3-legged octopus. His name is Triopus. Say hello to Triopus!

(Go ahead, we'll wait.)

And this is what is commonly know known as a Unicycler.

Stinky Pete is rather smitten with him.

However, Triopus not so much!

And the rest of the crew.

Unasquare, on the bottom left is a little distressed about his lack of mobility. He has submitted a Reinvention Request.

I wanted to show you another fun easy tot activity I made. I saw this on someones blog, but I can't find it to give them credit! (If you're reading this and it's you, I'm so sorry! Please comment to tell me!)

It's another color match, but it also works on fine motor skills.

She has to put the colored pipe cleaners into the matching holes in an oatmeal container.

I poked holes in the container top with an exacto knife.

Then I colored re-enforcement circles with markers and put them around the holes.

Making it was super easy and she loves it. She did this three times in a row.

I have mentioned before about the swap that I participated in this summer and it got the creative wheels turning. I have been thinking up all kinds of fun things for Stinky Pete to do! This particular idea I grabbed from here, but it was so easy I wanted to show you.

It is a color match using the free paint swatches from Wal-Mart. I cut, laminated and put a Velcro dot on the back. I have another color set, I just have to get some more Velcro dots. She loves it.
